New Oral GLP-1 Pill Enters Global Phase III Trials for Diabetes

A Chinese biotech company called Ascletis said it has started a global Phase III clinical trial for a new pill called ASC30 that works like GLP-1 drugs, and it also reported encouraging early lab results for a different pill that combines three hormone actions (GLP-1, GIP, and amylin) in one fixed-dose oral treatment. In plain terms: they’re moving one experimental weight-loss/diabetes pill into late-stage testing in people, and they have promising preclinical (lab and animal) data on a more complex combo pill that would act on three targets at once.
