Used One Needle Twice to Mix Peptide—Is It Still Safe?

Someone on Reddit described mixing a peptide (they called it "reta") by using the same syringe and needle to draw up two different bottles of bacteriostatic water, going back and forth around six times to reach the total volume they wanted. They only wiped the vial stoppers the first time. They asked whether the peptide is still safe to use after doing that. This is a practical question about cleanliness and contamination when reconstituting a powdered medication into liquid. Peptides are small protein-like molecules used in research and sometimes in medicine or off-label by people chasing effects like weight loss, muscle growth, or metabolic changes. They usually come as a dry powder in a vial and need to be mixed (reconstituted) with sterile water before injection. Bacteriostatic water is water that contains a tiny amount of preservative to slow bacterial growth. When handled correctly, peptides in sealed vials and reconstituted with sterile technique are generally low-risk, but cleanliness matters.
