Reconstituted Peptide Looks Cloudy — Is It Spoiled or Still Safe?

Someone on Reddit asked whether a vial of a reconstituted peptide that looked cloudy and a bit thicker a week later was “cooked” — meaning ruined or no longer usable. The post is basically someone noticing a visual change after mixing the powder with liquid and asking if that change means the product has spoiled or become unsafe. When people talk about “peptides” here they usually mean small chains of amino acids that are used in research or sometimes by consumers for weight, fitness, or other effects. They often arrive as a dry powder and need to be mixed (reconstituted) with sterile water or bacteriostatic water before use. The mixed solution should normally be clear or slightly translucent. If it becomes cloudy, discolored, or has particles, that can indicate contamination, degradation, or improper mixing. You can’t confirm bacterial contamination or chemical degradation without lab testing. Also, some peptides are more stable than others, so “cloudy” doesn’t have one universal meaning. If unsure, the safest choice is to discard the vial and get a new, verifiably sterile product. If someone has injected a cloudy solution and then has fever, redness, swelling, or feels unwell, they should seek medical attention. Bottom line: cloudy or thick after reconstitution = toss it; don’t risk injecting it.
