Popular brand examples have been used for diabetes and weight loss. A "copycat" usually means a generic or follow-on product made to work like the original, often at a lower price once patents expire or when competitors enter the market. The coverage says these copycat GLP-1 drugs are cheaper, but it doesn’t mean every product is identical to the originals in every way. The evidence supporting a copycat’s safety and effectiveness depends on what studies regulators required for approval.
