The short version: a person bought oxytocin from an online vendor, noticed the vial looked suspicious or contaminated, and posted about it to warn others. Oxytocin is a naturally occurring hormone that people usually think of as the “bonding” or “love” hormone because it’s involved in social behavior, childbirth, and breastfeeding. As a product sold to consumers, “oxytocin” vials typically contain a lab-made version of that hormone for research or, in medical settings, to help induce labor. It is not the same as common weight-loss drugs like semaglutide — it acts on different brain and body systems. The post is an anecdote, not a scientific study.
